Protecting NATURE’S resource through knowledge and
awareness of our Watershed
Regulatory Side
Regulations and new laws governing storm-water run-off and watershed management continue to change and be
debated through the halls of Congress and the legislature in Nashville. “Understanding the Regulatory Side”
module will guide Mayors, Commissioners and other Community Leaders as they move to pass new regulations
and explain to their citizens the reasoning behind legislation that effect their businesses, homes and lives.
This module will be a repository of knowledge for leaders as they move forward to protect, preserve and
manage the Lower Tennessee River Watershed.
Through a continual updating of the module local leaders can be assured that they have the latest information
concerning storm-water run-off and watershed issues that they will face from time to time through-out their
districts and communities.
Community Leaders are encouraged to familiarize themselves with each tab above so as to be armed with
the knowledge required to vote on upcoming legislation or ordinances in their districts. The tabs will be up-dated
as new information surfaces from the Federal, State and Local governments.
Community Leaders will be better prepared to handle the ever changing landscape of storm-water
run-off and watershed issues.
