Protecting NATURE’S resource through knowledge and
awareness of our Watershed
The Construction Industry is a major component to the economic engine of the Lower Tennessee River Water-
shed. The industry is also a major source of sediment run-off during land disturbing activities. Through existing
laws and regulations the construction site has become a better maintained process where sediment and erosion
are contained on the construction site through numerous measures.
Through the “Tools for the Construction Industry” module contractors and construction workers will better under-
stand the process for Best Management Practices (BMP) required to protect each work-site and all lands
adjoining the site. The examples will show both correct and in-correct BMP’s as a guide for better understanding
how to protect any construction site.
The “On-line BMP Manual” will provide the latest version of land disturbing and storm-water run-off details that
affect the building industry.
The “NPDES” tab will provide the latest knowledge that every contractor needs to be aware of
as they build in the Lower Tennessee River Watershed.
Contractors, Engineers, Architects, Landscape Architects and other Storm-water Professionals will be
able to gaining Continuing Education credits and Certificates through the on-line learning tab.
